Every tuition center owner has heard the line: "But I already paid in May!" You check the register. It says otherwise. Now you have an argument on your hands — and arguments about money are the most time-consuming admin of all.

- Paid date — when the money actually came in

4. Give receipts without adding admin work
The trap is building a receipt system that costs you ten minutes per student. That's backwards. The receipt should be a side effect of what you already do:
- You mark a fee as paid — one tap, the moment cash or UPI lands
- A numbered receipt is issued automatically — no form to fill, no file to generate
- The parent's payment screen shows it — Download is one button on a paid row
"Issued and downloadable" beats "I'll give it when you ask" every time.
5. Don't overpromise — receipts aren't GST invoices
A fee receipt is proof of payment. A GST invoice is a tax document. Most small tuition centers don't need to issue GST invoices for monthly fees, but every center benefits from giving a clean, numbered receipt.
Pick the simple thing that actually solves the dispute and serves the parent — and do it well.
